Trust me, these three tips you should definitely live by if you are planning on starting any direct sales marketing online today.

Yes, I believe you need to be online, I am, and it works to build, to brand, and to grow your business today. Personally, it is a must, and I mean that for all of us.

However, Alice, it can be a 'rabbit hole' here if you do not watch your step, and learn to curve that 'need for speed' here when it comes to generating traffic and building a successful business.

And, I guess we can start with tip number one, "patience Daniel-san, patience."

Building on patience.

Patience, it's the one thing most people don't have naturally, but it is the one thing you’ll need to build your business here online.

Contrary to popular belief, and even more popular sales copy online, building your organization online will still take time. And, just so you know, while it may not be what it was once upon a time, it still takes effort, willingness to do the work, and follow through.

There are many voices online telling us we can “grow our team, our leads, our sales” with the particular training or software they are offering. Here is a fact; no matter what they say, you are still dealing with people, and people want their needs met or at least shown how to meet them themselves.

You do not need everything here, you only need what is most important, and that is:

  1. A simple blog.
  2. A simple social media presence.
  3. And, an email marketing system like Aweber or, Mailchimp.

Yes, there might be a thing or two extra you may need like landing page software, but do not go any further than these simple platforms for now.

Patience is a gift for some, and an even bigger gift is the patience to learn some patience! Working from the comfort of home, even online is never easy, simple maybe, but easy, never. Keep it simple and take your time online, it is easy to get information overload here.

They say "Rome was not built in a day," but, it was practically destroyed overnight. Don't be taken down before you even get started here by the falsehood that the internet will work miracles in your organization's growth.

Yes, the internet can get you in front of more people, but you are still dealing with people, and your brand, your content, your efforts here will need to reflect that fact.

Building your brand and community.

Building community matters.

Many folks come here and think that everything is in the list, and that may be true for some business models. But, not for our beloved direct sales industry.

Here we help build leaders, and when we are building leaders we are building community. And, we are looking for leaders.

"Leaders build leaders." I like that saying, and when it comes to this industry that is exactly what we are doing. Online, it is the same, we are building a community of leaders via our online presence and brand that turns out more leaders.

Your brand is the secret to building that community, those leaders.

From your blog to how you engage on social media and other multimedia channels, whatever you choose to use here, your brand should reflect the same image across each platform, period.

This means not only colors, pics, and logos, it should also be your messaging, your personal voice and mantra.

The community you create will reflect the brand you build. Remember that!

Bonus tip: you still need to work...

Like I said above, and I wish to say it again because it really is important to know that you still have to work here, even online.

There are no shortcuts to success with direct sales, it comes with building a solid brand message, leaders, and the rinse repeat of these two things with each person that chooses to partner with YOU!

And, it comes through being teachable...

Yes, I suggest you get online, and yes, it is truly advantageous too you to be here. But, it is not a shortcut that will have you spilling over the edges with people, that kind of trust is still earned.
